Help raise money for the blind

A BUCKET collection is to be held at the Warrington Wolves v Wigan Warriors Rugby League match at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday, May 22 to raise funds for local blind and partially sighted people.
The collection is on behalf of the Warrington, Widnes and District Society for the Blind, who are attempting to raise funds to move to new premises.
Society chairman John Taylor said: “We rely on local people to support our efforts in supporting blind and partially sighted people and their carers in our area.
“We do this by having a social-drop in centre in Warrington, a hospital help desk and a home visiting service.
” Our current centre is old and the facilities are not what people now need. We are therefore looking to move to a more modern building with easier access and better facilities than we have at the moment. Our current building has no car parking area, no toilet suitable for disabled people, difficult access for those in wheelchairs, the list goes on…
“All this costs money and we are attempting to raise funds to enable us to move.
“Thanks to Warrington Wolves who have given us permission to hold a bucket collection we are taking a small step in the right direction.”
