Keeper scoops hat-trick of awards

WARRINGTON Town shot stopper Richie Mottram won a hat-trick of awards at the club’s end of season presentation night when Liverpool and England legend Ian St John was on hand to present the trophies.
Mottram won Players Player of the Year, Supporters Club Player of the Year and the Roger Warburton Memorial Trophy, presented by Supporters Club Chairman Gerry Liversridge.
Leading goal scorer Chris Gaghan collected the Manager’s Player of the Year award, while Club President Eric Shaw, who has been involved at the club for more than 50 years was presented with Clubman of the Year award by Football Chairman Dave Hughes.
Eric and retyiring club secretary Barry Thorpe were presented with shares in the club in recognition of their long service.
More than 200 players, supporters and sponsors packed into a giant marquee on the pitch at the presentation night to be entertained by live music and top comedian Sean Styles.
The event, sponsored by Warrington based TnM Couriers, was compared by Tony Murray from the club’s sponsors intraining, who helped organise the event, which also raised nearly £1,500 for club funds.
Money was raised from an auction which included old style Liverpool shirts which were signed by Ian St John on the night.
The club has also given fans the chance to buy shares in the club, with a minimum purchase of 5 shares for £50. A total of 1,000 shares have bee issued with the aim of raising £10,000 towards next season’s budget.

Season tickets have also gone on sale for next season at just £100 for adults (£80 concessions), which includes all home cup ties. Anyone interested in buying a ticket call 01925 631592. This special price is limited until the end of July when it will increase to £120 (£100 concessions). Ground admission will remain at £7 per game next season (£4 concessions).
Children aged under 16 will again be allowed free admission next season, as will all Warrington Borough Transport Saver Card users aged under 19.
