STUDENTS have staged a catwalk show to raise funds for Warrington’s St Rocco’s Hospice.
The show was organised and marketed by students studying BTEC Business at Priestley College giving them a valuable insight into the running and promotion of a professional event.
Textiles students who had created outfits for the models to wear as part of their course, got chance to showcase their work on stage.
The college’s Performance Theatre provided the ideal backdrop for afternoon and evening shows as students, staff and the local community backed the worthwhile cause.
The evening show was particularly well received and included a wine and canape reception alongside a charity raffle with all prizes donated from a range of local businesses.
Stockton Heath based hair salon MC2 provided hair styling and makeup for the aspiring models, free of charge.
Julie McDonald, head of business at the college said, “I would like to place on record my thanks to everybody who contributed, especially the local organisations who donated both prizes and their services.
“The models looked sensational in their outfits designed by their fellow peers and it was very enjoyable indeed to bring the College together in this way for such a worthwhile cause as St Rocco’s.”
