A CHINESE takeaway in Warrington town centre has been fined £1,400 and ordered to pay £400 costs after being convicted of repeatedly trading beyond their licensed hours.
AK Oriental, trading as China China, at Academy Way, Warrington entered a guilty plea at the town’s magistrates court and were dealt with in their absence.
The court was told the prosecution followed an operation by a joint enforcement team consisting of officers from the police, licensing, trading standards and environmental health authority who are responsible for patrolling the town centre to ensure licensed premises are complying with their licensing conditions.
After the hearing, licensing officer Val Atherton said: “Ensuring licensed premises in Warrington comply with the conditions of their license is a top priority for us.
“We work closely with licensees to make sure they are aware of their responsibilities and offer advice and support about a wide range of legislation. The majority of licensees in Warrington do take this responsibility seriously, however, we will not hesitate to take any action necessary where this is not the case.”

  1. Officers from the police, licensing, trading standards and envitonmental health authority join forces at great expense to launch a mob handed assault on an easy target to justify their existence. The exercise probably cost more than the fine and the time spent on this nonsense prevented the various bodies from tackling a real problem.
