Sports village consultation events

TWO consultation events to enable people to find out about progress on Warrington’s ambitious Orford Park Project are to be held next week.
They will be on Tuesday April 28 at St Margaret’s Church Hall, School Road, Orford and on Thursday April 30 at St Ann’s School Hall, Lathom Avenue – both between 6.30pm and 8pm.
The Orford Park “sports village” project will provide a range of community and sports facilities for local people. These will include community space for use by community groups, new leisure provision including swimming pools, a new health centre, library, crèche, café, children’s play areas, sports pitches, walkways and cycle ways.
A borough council spokeswoman said: “This is a great opportunity for you to come along and have a look at the latest site plans and the building layout proposals and to discuss them with the design teams and the project manager.
“There will be exhibition stands offering information and literature about the project for you to have a look at and take home with you.”
Refreshments will be provided and everyone who attends will automatically be entered in a free prize draw to win a family pass for the Warrington Wolves v Salford City Reds rugby match on Sunday July 26 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. The family pass allows two adults and two children free entry to watch this match. The draw will take place at the end of the consultation event.
