Major drive to improve park

A MAJOR drive to improve a Warrington park has resulted in proposals to form a “friends” group.
People living near Peel Hall Park are hoping to form the group to ensure local people are involved in the planning of events and improving the overall look and feel of the site.
Over the last few weeks, a great deal of work has been done to improve the park and make it more attractive to local people and visitors.
Warrington Borough Council’s Street Scene team carried out remedial works to cut back overgrown trees and shrubs, edge pathways and remove dangerous objects in partnership with Community Payback and the Youth Offending Team.
Stronger Together in Warrington and local residents joined forces to take part in a community litter pick and removed 16 bags of rubbish.
More than 20 people including local children joined in the big clean up.
A residents spokeswoman said: “We are hoping to form a Friends of Peel Hall Park group to ensure that local people are involved in the planning of events and improving the overall look and feel to the site.”
Anybody interested in joining the Friends of Peel Hall Park should contact Lynn Dunning on 01925 815468 or Kate Whitehead on 01925 443027.
