Vision for the future

A NEW sustainable community strategy for Warrington has been launched – with a vision of making the borough one of the best places to live and work in the UK by 2030.
The strategy – One Warrington: One Future – has been drawn up by the Warrington Partnership, a group of organisations, including the borough council, who choose to work together to collectively identify a vision for the future of the borough.
Its vision also forms part of the borough council’s corporate plan for the next three years.
Developed through extensive consultation with residents, local businesses and other local partners, it sets out a long-term vision for the town and although ambitious, the Partnership believes it should set bold aspirations in order to drive the improvements that Warrington residents and businesses deserve.
Public bodies, community and voluntary sector organisations, businesses and members of the public were consulted during compilation of the strategy over the last year.
Agencies such as health services, police, fire service and the council will use the document to decide how and where to allocate their resources and what services to provide.
Coun Keith Bland, (pictured) chairman of the Warrington Partnership said: “Warrington has experienced significant growth and change over the last 30 years which has transformed the borough into the successful place it is today.
“It is already a great place to live, so we’re starting our journey from a sound platform. We want to build on this success to ensure local people can enjoy a better quality of life than ever before.”
