About 20 cars were attacked – many having front and rear windscreens smashed.
It is believed the damage occurred in the early hours of this morning.
Cars in Marshall Avenue, Summerfield Avenue, Lewis Avenue, Boulting Avenue and other nearby roads in the Dallam area were attacked
A police spokeswoman said: “A 35-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage. We believe this is an isolated incident, although obviously a very serious one.”
Police are still seeking witnesses who are asked to call 0845 458 000 or the confidential Crimestoppers line 0800 555 111.

  1. I can bet the numpty who has done this will be tapped on the wrist and sent back home again…. unfortunately the poor motorists will be left to pick up the bill as they are usually insured for glass damage.

The Police gave up on car crime in this town a long long time ago; as they seem to have done with a lot of “minor” crimes and anti social behaviour….
