Wine bar taxi base approved

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have given the go-ahead for a taxi base station above a wine bar.
The change of use of offices above the Bacchus wine bar in Common Lane, Culcheth was opposed by Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.
But planning officers recommended approval and members of the borough’s development control committee decided the scheme could go ahead.
An application for a radio aerial mast at the rear of the property, which was also opposed by residents of Thompson Avenue, was also approved.
The parish council was concerned that the proposal would lead to local car parks and Common Lane being used as taxi waiting areas.
There was also concern that the aerial mast would have an adverse impact on residents of the Cherry Tree pub and Thompson Avenue.
Residents were concerned about interference to TV signals and wi-fi systems.
