SHE did it! Warrington singing hopeful Lucie Evans scooped top prize in a £100,000 online talent contest.
But after picking up a £20,000 cheque and a package of other benefits totalling £80,000 at the awards ceremony in London the 15-year-old had to dash straight back to Warrington to take her GCSE dance exam.
Both she and her proud Dad, Rob, expressed thanks for the help Warrington people have given her by voting for her song “Crazy” in the online poll.
Organisers of the 1Click2Fame competition said Lucie’s song was an instant hit on their website, having been viewed more than 35, 000 times since it went online in February.
Lucie, a pupil at Birchwood High School, Warrington, has been singing since she was six. She beat off a challenge from hundreds of other pop hopefuls in the competition.
The package of benefits she wins in addition to the £20,000 cash include a professionally made music video, training from the best vocal coaches and a possible national tour.
A spokesman for the contest said: “The sky is the limit, but one thing is for certain. Remember the name Lucie Evans.”
