Security guard attacked

A SECURITY guard was attacked with a crowbar during a raid on a Co-op late shop at Warrington.
The raid was at the shop in Lovely Lane and took place as security staff were filling a cash machine in the shop.
Two men wearing dark clothing entered the shop, one brandishing the crow bar.
There was a brief struggle during which one security guard was struck with the crow bar and suffered minor injuries.
The offender grabbed a black box containing cash for the machine and fled in a silver grey Mini car, driving in the direction of Warrington Hospital.
Police are seeking witnesses of the raid which took place yesterday morning (Monday).
They are particularly anxious to talk to anyone who saw the Mini as it sped towards the hospital.
The two offenders were aged 16-20 and between 5ft 5 inches and 5ft 10 inches tall. One had light brown hair.
