Building quality awards up for grabs

0

BUILDING projects in Warrington will be competing in the Cheshire “Built in Quality” awards again this year.
But local government reorganisation in other parts of the county mean the competition will have a new look.
Instead of

competing with the old Cheshire County Council and six Cheshire district councils – all of which are to disappear this year – Warrington projects will vie with those in the two new unitary councils, Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East.
Winners from each of the three areas will compete for the overall Cheshire awards, which recognise the highest standards in building construction.
The event will be held at a new venue, Mere Golf and Country Club, near Knutsford on Friday April 3.
The number of categories this year has increased to seven and now includes “public and community projects”, “accessibility to buildings” and “best architect or agent”.
The event’s MC is Granada TV’s Trevor Green and after dinner speaker is straight talking BBC Radio Manchester presenter Alan Beswick.
