Wolves' star facing prison sentence

WARRINGTON Wolves full-back Stuart Reardon has been told he faces a possible prison sentence after pleading guilty to assaulting his estranged wife.
Reardon appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court today with former Bradford Bulls team-mate Leon Pryce, now of St Helens, who admitted assaulting Kay Reardon’s boyfriend, Damon O’Brien, at a flat in Clayton Heights, Bradford, in July last year.
Adjourning the case until April 23 for pre-sentence reports, Deputy District Judge Nick Watson told both men he had a prison setence in mind.
Former Great Britain international Reardon, 27, pleaded guilty to assaulting his estranged wife Kay after discovering she was seeing another man, while Pryce, also 27, admitted assaulting her new partner.
The court heard the defendants had both been drinking before going to the flat and forcing their way in, leaving the couple “terrified”.
After shouting at his wife and calling her insulting names, Reardon grabbed her arm “momentarily”, causing three bruises.
Pryce then pushed O’Brien, who had armed himself with a rounders bat “for his own protection”, causing him to stumble backwards and hit his head and neck on a pedal bin.
An additional charge of using violence to gain entry against both defendants was dropped after the prosecution offered no evidence.
