Students received attendance awards

MORE than 1,000 Warrington students who achieved good attendance at college were rewarded for their dedication at an awards ceremony.
The Priestley College youngsters had reached attendance targets during the first term of the academic year. Those invited to the ceremony had more than 95 per cent attendance – with 300 having reached 100 per cent.
Figures show an improvement on the previous year and as a reward students’ names were put into a prize draw to win gifts totalling more than £3,000, which included a Nintendo Wii and an IPod touch.
Student attendance is a key focus at the college, and evidence shows that good attenders go on to get good results.
Head of performance management, Jan Costello said: “I place on record my congratulations to the students who have all shown a great commitment to their studies at Priestley.
“The first term really is a key time for all new and current students and as a college we were delighted to reward them with a range of prizes.”
