Students escape to the sun

SPORT and PE Students from Warrington escaped the British Winter when they headed to Lanzarote.
The group, consisting of A-Level and BTEC students from Priestley College made the Canary Islands their home for a week of warm weather training.
During an action packed stay at the Club La Santa resort they were challenged in a range of individual and group activities which included swimming, aerobics, gym challenges, water polo and mountain biking. The activities all then culminated towards the end of the week as they competed against each other in a Triathlon.
The students kept track of their progress via log books and awards were handed out to those who had excelled.
The resort is well known for visits by world class athletes and Priestley have now made it an annual destination.
Jenny Dawes, a Great Britain gymnast, who was a member of the group, was full of praise for the training camp,
“Visiting Club La Santa was a chance to mix with new people and make new friends – there was loads to do and different sports to try.”
The A-Level student who is currently studying Sport and PE, Law and Psychology added, “It was really inspiring and I would definitely like to visit again for the all round experience that it offered.”
