WARRINGTON Parliamentary hopeful Jo Crotty teamed up with Lib Dem shadow justice secretary David Howarth to take their fight against Titan prisons to Parliament.
Following their policy motion opposing Titan prisons, was passed at the Lib Dems spring conference in Harrogate last weekend, Mr Howarth tabled an Early Day Motion in the House of Commons calling for “an immediate end to the plan for Titan prisons” in Britain.
Coun Jo Crotty – Prospective Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Warrington South had proposed the motion at the party conference when it became official party policy.
She said: “I am pleased that we have this motion on the books now.
“This is the best way for Members of Parliament to show that they support the Liberal Democrats in opposing Titan-style prisons, and also that they support those of us in Warrington who are campaigning against the threat from the Government of a prison in Warrington.
“I would strongly urge all MPs to support this motion.”
