Shop raiders flee empty-handed

TWO thugs – one armed with a knife – fled empty handed at Warrington after two women shop assistants refused to hand over cash.
The failed robbery was at Owen’s newsagents in School Road, Orford Green.
The two offenders, described as being in their late teens or early twenties, entered the shop at about 10.30pm on Monday night March 9). One was brandishing a knife.
They demanded cash but the two women assistants, aged in their 40s, refused and the pair fled empty handed.
The one with a knife had a shaved head with noticeable scars on his scalp. The otrher was wearing a distinctive blue top with two vertical white stripes on it.
Police are appealing for witnesses who should call o845 458 0000 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
