Armed raiders grab cash from shop

0

ARMED raiders got away with cash and cigarettes from a Warrington convenience store after threatening an assistant.
The raid was at the Spar shop in Cinnamon Lane, Fearnhead and involved three hooded men in dark clothing brandishing a knife, a batten and what appeared to be a knuckle duster.
A 33-year-old man in the shop was not injured but was left badly shaken.
The thugs burst into the shop on Saturday night – only hours after a similar raid on an off licence at Winwick. But police are not linking the two raids.
They demanded cash from the till and helped themselves to cigarettes before running off.
Police believe two other men seen outside the shop at the time may have been involved in the robbery.
Anyone who witnessed the raid, or who has any information that might be helpful to police, is asked to contact DC Mark Naylor on 01244 615839 or call the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
