Shoppers want more choice

A WIDER variety of businesses is needed in Stockton Heath, according to people who responded to a local survey.
Households in the area received a Village Plan Survey organised by local Conservatives, with questions ranging from the need for public toilets to the impact of late-night licensed premises.
More than 300 people replied – and the majority are called for a greater range of businesses in the village, better parking and traffic control, and the provision of public toilets.
Organiser Coun Stephen Taylor said: “For some time the village has been developing in ways that many disagree with. I wanted to give the residents a say in how they would like to see the village change over the next few years.
“This survey will be used as the basis for the production of a village plan which will provide a benchmark for future development.”
