A HOUSEHOLDER tackled a blaze in his kitchen and succeeded in extinguishing the flames before fire crews could reach the scene.
The blaze was at a house in Coronation Drive, Stockton Heath last night.
A pan of food on a cooker ignited but the occupier tackled the fire himself. The cooker and pan were badly damaged and there was extensive smoke damage in the kitchen.
Firefighters used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the premises.
