Vandals start fire in house

0

VANDALS broke into an unoccupied house at Warrington and started a fire which threatened adjoining family homes.
The blaze was at a two-bedroomed, terraced house in Leonard Street, off Orford Lane. The property had been boarded up for some time.
Neighbours raised the alarm when smoke was seen pouring from the property.
Fire crews found entry had been forced by removing boarding from a window. A fire had been started in the kitchen which caused severe damage in a rear extension.
Firefighters tackled the blaze with a hosereel and prevented the fire spreading to adjoining, occupied houses.
