Gardeners need room to grow

THE green fingered gardeners of Stockton Heath need more room to grow.
So parish councillors have agreed to try and help – by searching for suitable plots further afield.
The council is to ask neighbouring parish councils if they have any

land to spare.
Coun Tudor Pole told the council people were waiting years for a plot a Stockton Heath allotments in Red Lane.
He asked whether there was any vacant land in the parish that could be used for allotments.
Coun Celia Jordan said: “There is a waiting list all over the country for allotments because of the increased popularity of healthy eating.”
More and more people were interested in growing their own fruit and vegetables.
Chairman Coun Maurice Leslie said neighbouring parish councils, in more rural areas, might have suitable land to spare.
It was agreed to ask neighbouring parishes if they could help.
