SCHOOL children in Warrington are set to battle it out on the pitch in a special tournament.
Police Community Support Officer David Mahon has organised a football competition to help keep youngsters entertained during the half-term break.
The tournament, which takes place at Broomfields Leisure Centre on Tuesday February 17th, will feature youngsters from local schools.
It will be split into two parts – the first part, which will run from 10am to noon, will be for 10-year-olds and the second part, which will run from 1pm to 4pm, will be for 11-16-year-olds.
PC Mahon said: “I organised the first football tournament in October 2008 and it was such a great success that we decided to do it all over again.
“The tournament is a great way of bringing together children from local schools and helping to keep them occupied during the half-term break.
“We work closely alongside local schools and this is a great opportunity for us to engage with young people and build positive relationships between local officers and local youths.”
