AN accident on the M6 near Warrington this morning caused lengthy tailbacks of traffic on the A57 Manchester Road.
A second accident, believed to involve a cyclist, in Knutsford Road, Latchford, near its junction with Wash Lane, also caused hold-ups.
The motorway accident was on the southbound carriageway between the Lymm Interchange and Junction 21 at Woolston. No details have been released.
But traffic on the A57 tailed back as far as Cadishead and many motorists arrived late for work in Warrington.
Police said traffic was moving slowly on the motorway and on other main roads in the area.
