Samba band seeks new members

LYMM Samba Band, which regularly wows onlookers at the May Queen Festival, Dickensian Day, etc, is on the look-out for new members.
Youngsters aged 16-plus are wanted to swell the ranks of the band, which currently has about 25 members.
Percussionist and performing arts teacher Chris Haynes, who organises the band, said: “What we need most is percussion players.
“We have instruments available and tuition is free. There’s no fee for joining.
“But we could also do with dancers and perhaps some brass players – trumpets, trombones…any instrument that can be played on the move.
“If we could get some brass players, or saxophonists, we could expand the band quite a bit.
“We play at festivals all over the place in the summer but we could do with more players.”
The band rehearses every Wednesday at Lymm’s Bridgewater Club. Anyone interested should contact Chris on 07985 578530.
