ENTRIES have now opened for the annual Newton-le-Willows Triathlon, taking place on April 26.
Now in its third year, the event attracts triathletes of all abilities from complete novices to GB squad members. It was a sell-out last year.
Starting with 16 lengths in the pool at Selwyn Jones Sports Centre, this shorter distance triathlon progresses onto a 13.5mile cycle stage, and finishes with a 3.5 mile run on local roads around Newton-le-Willows.
Sponsored by Nokia, Edinburgh Bicycle Co-operative, TriCentral, SweatShop and Pure Blue, there are participant packs for every competitor. There are also prizes for event and series winners in various categories, including a novice category and staggered starts provide the chance to race against competitors of similar standards – from beginners to elites.
