STOCKTON Heath Festival has lost one of the stalwart volunteers who played a key part in organising the first-ever festival last summer.
Ben Chan, 22, of Stockton Heath, a recent science graduate of Durham University, has left to take up a new job for the Ministry of Defence at Salisbury.
He had been volunteering for the festival since June, was an active member of the committee and helped out at almost every event over the festival weekend, helping traders set up, directing people, selling tickets, litter picking, putting up signage, laying out the venues, etc.
Mal Armstrong, vice chairman and volunteer co-ordinator for the festival said: “Ben has been a real star. We are really going to miss him and wish him all the very best for the future.”
Anyone wishing to find out more about becoming a festival volunteer can email [email protected] or visit the website www.stocktonheathfestival.co.uk
