PARENTS, teachers, friends and families in Warrington are being urged to nominate teenagers who they think deserve recognition for doing something special.
The borough council is on the look out for 13-19 year-olds who have done
something that should be celebrated as part of a project titled “Inspire”.
It could be doing really well at school, doing some volunteering work or being musically or artistically talented or doing well in sport.
Two special celebration events have been organised by a group of local teens for the end of February to which the nominated youngsters will be invited.
There they will able to showcase their own skills, get a chance to try street dancing, singing or art and listen to DJs and live bands.
Coun Sheila Woodyatt, the council’s executive member for children’s services said: “The aim of these events is to highlight the positive contribution young people make to the town and their local communities. If successful it is hoped that Inspire will become an annual celebration.”
Forms can be found at the council website, www.warrington.gov.uk/inspire and completed entries should be sent to Lucy Burrows, 1st Floor, New Town House, Buttermarket Street, Warrington, WA1 2NH or emailed to [email protected]
Forms can also be posted at Inspire boxes which will be placed around the town.
