AN on-site learning centre has opened at a Warrington distribution centre – providing employees educational opportunities at the workplace.
Warrington North MP Helen Jones officially opened the facility at DHL Iceland Distribution, Hardwick
Grange, Woolston yesterday (Friday).
The initiative has been put in place by DHL Iceland, shopworkers union Usdaw, the Skills for Logistics and the Sector Skills Council. All were represented at the opening ceremony.
The initiative aims to deliver and support affordable and accessible learning opportunities in the workplace. It is supported through government funding, support and effective working with local college providers, partnerships between Usdaw and employers, effective working with the appropriate sector skills councils and community and private learning agencies.
