Internet firm bucks the trend

A WARRINGTON-based internet company has bucked the trend and announced record growth during the year just ended.
Airangel, which provides branded guest internet solutions, recorded a 302 per cent increase in sales.
October was the most successful month with £100,000 of new business in the form of new multi-site contracts with Shire Hotels and De Vere hotels.
An expected 2008 turnover of more than £1 million now puts the company on a firm footing to achieve its projected £2.5 million turnover this year.
Airangel already works with prestigious hotel chains such as Radisson SAS and Malmaison and more than 12,000 hotel rooms in the UK now offer WiFi services provided by the firm.
The company also works across the conference and corporate sectors working with prominent companies including law firms Halliwells and Eversheds and GSH.
Sales director Dean Wilkinson said: “WiFi connectivity is an increasingly important requirement of daily life and we’ve seen heightened demand from all sorts of sectors.
“As well as hospitality and conference, we are working with the corporate sector and our market is expanding all the time.
“Airangel’s success can, in part, be attributed to our focus on working with clients about the revenue generating and marketing benefits of WiFi solutions and, our transparent and fee-based approach. These factors are serving our business well and we expect another bumper year in 2009.”
