STAFF at local tourism board, Visit Chester & Cheshire have been striding ahead, completing a 17-mile hike in aid of The British Heart Foundation.
The plucky team were out and about on the hills of the Peak District to take part in The British Heart Foundation’s annual High Peak Trail Winter Challenge.
Raising over £500 for the charity, the walkers started their challenge at Cromford Meadows near Matlock, following the High Peak Trial along the Cromford Canal, before finishing at Hurdlow near Buxton.
Caroline Hoppé, PR Executive at Visit Chester & Cheshire, commented: “Taking part in the walk was a great challenge for the team. Everyone who took part found it extremely enjoyable and rewarding, as well as being an excellent way to keep fit.
“Heart disease and the associated illnesses can affect anyone at any time in their lives and it is great to be involved in an event which helps support the vital and lifesaving work of The British Heart Foundation.”
Visit Chester & Cheshire staff who took part in the challenge included: Chris Brown, Chief Executive of Visit Chester & Cheshire, Greg Lawlor, Lucy Morris, Kate Blythe, Tom Williams, Andy Clarke, Rebecca Wainwright and Caroline Hoppé. The team were also joined by Lesley Torkington, Emma Massey and Ian King from Macclesfield Borough Council.
