WORK will start on January 7 on an improvement scheme at the Hood Manor shopping precinct at Great Sankey, Warrington.
A £50,000 grant will enable old paving to be removed and replaced with tarmac – a scheme taking about 6-8 weeks.
After that the old landscaping will be removed and replaced over a similar period.
Coun Jim Regan, borough councillor for Great Sankey South, said: “We are also asking residents to think of a person who has done a lot for the area so we can rename the community centre.
“This is all part of making the area better.”
