HEALTH Chiefs in Warrington are urging older people too keep warm with
temperatures expected to plummet over the New Year period.
NHS Warrington has issued the following advice to help older people to stay warm:
*Keep your house warm – the temperature in the rooms you are using should be 21 degrees centigrade
*Eat properly – at least one hot meal a day and have regular hot drinks or soup
*Dress warmly – wear several light layers and thermal underwear
*Stay warm in bed – if you feel cold in bed use a hot water bottle, or microwave ‘beanie’ or an electric blanket but never together and make sure the electric blanket is safe.
*Stay well – make sure you have your flu vaccine, it’s not too late, contact your GP surgery now
