New agency to help charities

A NEW Warrington-based agency, aimed at promoting small charities and social enterprises in the North West, has been launched.
Marissa Hankinson, who has 15 years business and charity experience, has launched Third Marketing – the first agency of its kind in the region.
It works with other marketing professionals, designers and experts within their field to ensure that charitable organisations maximise their return on investment.
She said: “With more than 12,000 charitable bodies in the North West and the economic downturn affecting many charities’ income, charities more than ever need to demonstrate their distinctiveness as well as their efficiency and effectiveness in making a difference.
“It is important that charities have a consistent message about who and what they are all about whilst being responsible and answerable to others, such as their donors, stakeholders and funders.”
She said smaller charities may have a difficulty in getting publicity as the bigger charities often get more attention.
But she said small charities can make a real difference and are often creative and innovative.
