A PRESTIGIOUS three star rating has been awarded to Warrington’s adult social care service.
The award – the highest accolade possible – has been handed out by the Commission for Social Care Inspection following the annual performance assessment.
Warrington was commended for its strong political and managerial leadership and high quality of services which had resulted in improved outcomes for local people.
Coun Roy Smith, the borough council’s executive member for community services said: “I would like to commend the team for their commitment to providing and organising high quality social care services for the people of Warrington who need our help and support the most.”
Community services director Helen Sumner added: “We are consistently looking to improve people’s quality of life by working closely with individuals and professional partners.
“We are committed to ensuring that all people who need care services in Warrington are treated with dignity and supported to exercise maximum choice and independence.”
Social care services support people to maintain their independence, enable them to play a fuller part in society, protect them in vulnerable situations and help them to manage complex relationships.
These services include provision of equipment, home care, opportunities for leisure and employment, as well as residential and nursing home care and support for carers.
