MAJOR roadworks are set to take place next week in Warrington, causing possible delays for up to three months.
Maintenance and improvement works on Fearnhead Lane, Poulton with Fearnhead will start on Monday November 24.
The works, taking place between Cinnamon Lane and Crab Lane, are planned to take place for about 12 weeks and include reconstruction of the carriageway, replacement of kerbs, resurfacing of footways and carriageway drainage improvements.
Fearnhead Lane will be closed to through traffic from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Local traffic can access the side roads leading from Fearnhead Lane.
The carriageway reconstruction work will be carried out under a full road closure, which will be clearly signposted,
including diversion routes.
Access to premises fronting Fearnhead Lane will be available as far as possible, however, vehicle access will not be
possible when the road works are directly outside. Residents and businesses will be notified in advance when access
will not be possible.
Alternative pedestrian routes will be provided when the footways are being resurfaced.
There will be a diversion route via Insall Road, Blackbrook Avenue, Birchwood Way, College Place, Crab Lane and vice-versa. All diversions will be clearly signposted.
There will be a sign to show which side roads can be reached from each end of Feanhead Lane.
The no. 24 bus service will be diverted via Cinnamon Lane, Enfield Park Road and Crab Lane, and will not serve Fearnhead Lane during working hours.
A temporary bus stop will be provided on Crab Lane near Fearnhead Lane in place of the Nook Lane stop. The 24 service will also stop at Gayhurst Avenue during these works. Notices will be posted on the affected bus stops showing the nearest alternative stop.
The borough council apologise for any inconvenience caused while they carry out these improvement works.
