BROOMFIELDS Leisure Centre, at Appleton, is to close for two weeks from December 1 while improvement works are carried out.
The closure is necessary for safety reasons and the centre is due to reopen on December 15.
A replacement boiler and filtration system is to be installed as part of a borough council investment programme.
A council spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused, but would like to remind all members they can still use the other four Select Leisure gyms in the town.
These are Birchwood Leisure and Tennis Complex, Benson Road, Fordton Leisure Centre, Chiltern Road, Great Sankey Leisure Centre, Barrowhall Lane and Woolston Leisure Centre, Hall Road.
