Students get to grips with marketing

BUSINESS students from a Warrington high school are learning marketing and promotion first hand – with a little help from the Cheshire Jets basketball team.
Year 10 students from Birchwood High School’s business and enterprise college are hard at work with the Jets’ main sponsors, Big Storage, promoting their home game against Scottish Rocks at Birchwood Leisure Centre on Sunday, November 23.
The youngsters have been planning marketing strategies with Big Space managing director Andrew Donaldson.
In addition, they have designed promotional posters, tickets and match day activities and negotiated the sale of advertising space in the match day programme by meeting local businesses.
This Saturday, November 15, the youngsters will be promoting the game at Birchwood Shopping Centre with the help of some of the basketball players and cheerleaders from 12noon until 2pm.
