Youths flee after early morning crash

POLICE with dogs pursued a group of youths who fled on foot after a three-vehicle pile-up at Warrington early this morning.
It was about 5.30am when the crash occurred in Wilderspool Causeway.
A Land Rover, believed to have been stolen, is understood to have collided with a stationary car and a large van.
All three vehicles were badly damaged and fire crews were called to the scene to assist in clearing wreckage from the carriageway.
The occupants of the Land Rover – a group of youths – ran off and later police with trackers dogs gave chase.
No-one was seriously injured in the incident.
In a separate incident, firefighters were called to Sinclair Avenue, Longford, Warrington where fire broke out involving a parked car.
It is believed the blaze was deliberately started and police are investigating.
