A TEENAGER from Warrington has been named UK Apprentice of the Year by a major national company.
Daniel Price, 19, of Park Road, Great Sankey, left St Gregory’s High School three years ago to start an engineering apprenticeship with Unilever.
Now he has been named Apprentice of the Year for the whole of Unilever UK.
Nine people, from 47 apprentices, were nominated for the award and Daniel came out on top.
He received a £150 gift voucher from the Institute of Engineering Technology and will be taken to Germany to see his employer’s operations there.
Daniel, who is normally based at the Warrington site, is currently working at the Port Sunlight base.
He said: “When I heard I had won the award I was over the moon and my family were all pleased.
“I have worked to get an understanding of the company as a whole.”
In his spare time Daniel enjoys socialising with friends and playing golf.
