Williams the conkerer!

BEAVER Scouts got into the swing of things when they took part in a “Conker Championship.”
Youngsters from the 1st Thelwall Beavers took part in the contest – a week after spending a day in Elizabeth
Park, Thelwall, collecting conkers.
Winner of the challenge was six-years-old Andrew Williams, who was presented with an engraved trophy.
After collecting the horse chestnuts in the park, the youngsters took bags of them home to thread them and practice.
Andrew’s style not only won him the trophy but also indicated he had probably done the most practising.
His name, the date and the words “Conker Champion” were engraved on the trophy.
Beaver Scouts in Thelwall meet every Wednesday at 6.15pm until 7.30pm. Details are available from Beaver Scout leader Martha Regan on 01925 261763.
