CULCHETH Primary School has been awarded the prestigious DCSF International School Award for its work in developing the international dimension in its curriculum.
Headteacher Craig Richardson attended the award ceremony in London and received the school’s award from BBC news correspondent George Aligiah.
The award, which is held for three years, is held by only 1,500 schools across the UK.
It celebrates the achievements and hard work of all the pupils and staff in forging links with overseas schools and developing children as “global citizens.”
Culcheth Primary has links with Welizibuko Primary School, in Soweto, South Africa.
The school has also introduce French and is making links with a school in the Dijon region of France.
A school spokeswoman said: “We are extremely proud to have received this award.”
