Business chiefs give college a boost

BUSINESS leaders across Warrington have enabled college students to almost reach a fund-raising target before the event has even taken place.
Local companies, including the ADS Recycling Group and Falcon Security have pledged their support for the “Pretty in Pink” day being planned by Priestley College on October 22.
Students and staff are busy arranging activities for the charity day and have been given a real boost by the pledges.
They originally hoped to raise more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK
However the team has nearly reached its target already.
In addition to this, following pre-sales of pink ribbon badges and also a staff raffle for a mountain bike, the team has already amassed more than £900.
Spokeswoman Rachel Walsh said: “We have been really moved by the level of support we have received from outside donors and I would like to thank them enormously.
“Now we have had such a good start, we hope to raise much more money than we had originally intended which will mean that we are able to fully support Cancer Research UK and purchase a piece of equipment in a local hospital.”
