Business students face a challenge

MORE than 90 AS Business students enjoyed a day of practical tasks at Priestley College, Warrington, as part of its Business Challenge 2008.
They were based in the college theatre for the day and joined representatives from McDonalds, Sapphire Education and Training and PGCE student teachers, to complete a range of tasks.
First was a “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” challenge and then they looked at potential problems facing a business, their likely impact and solutions.
McDonalds representatives set them a task of designing a brand new product for their menu and a new staff uniform.
College business curriculum manager Julie McDonald said: “Many of the students who opt to tackle business courses at Priestley have that special entrepreneurial flare and drive about them and on this day it really came to the fore.
“The college theatre resembled a high end business seminar, with our outside visitors thoroughly impressed by what they saw; who knows in the future we may just see a new burger on the McDonalds menu inspired by Priestley students.”
