Flat fire may be suspicious

A FIRE which broke out in a flat at Warrington early today is now being treated as “suspicious”.
A man was taken to hospital after fire broke out at his home.
The blaze was at a flat in St Peter’s Way, Orford, Warrington and broke out in the lounge shortly after 1.40am.
Smoke filled the property but the sole occupant managed to escape and raise the alarm.
Four firefighters wearing breathing tackled the blaze with a hosereel and used a ventilation unit to clear the property of smoke.
The man suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital after being treated at the scene. He is not thought to be seriously harmed.
The cause of the outbreak is still being investigated.
