TEMPORARY closures and speed limits have been introduced on a busy road which provides a shortcut to the motorway network.
The traffic order, affecting the B5158 Cherry Lane, Lymm, came into force yesterday (Monday) and will last for approximately six weeks.
It will mean a temporary prohibition of driving on Cherry Lane, from a distance of 250 metres north to 250 metres south of its junction with The Avenue.
There will also be temporary speed limit restriction of 20mph on the same stretch of Cherry Lane, if the road is open during the period.
The temporary restrictions will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm from Monday to Friday as and when signs are in place on site.
The alternative route will be via Cliff Lane, Knutsford Road, Stockport Road, Camsley Lane, Booths Hill Road and vice versa.
The restrictions are to allow for carriageway reconstruction works to be undertaken.
