A NEW Woodlands Children’s Centre is set to open in Warrington next Monday, September 22.
Visitors will be able to tour the recently built centre at Birchwood C E Primary School, which is the place to go for a range of services to support parents and children across Birchwood through health, social care, libraries and education.
The Mayor of Warrington, Coun Graham Welborn and the Rt Rev David Jennings, Bishop of Warrington will officially open the centre at 10am as part of a VIP launch.
The new Sure Start squad based at the centre will be available to answer questions and explain how they can help. Services include Families Information Services and health and family learning.
There will also be two play sessions for parents/carers and children during the morning in the play room.
The children’s entertainer will be in the village room from 10.00am with the buffet and refreshments available from 11.30am.
Coun Sheila Woodyatt, Executive Board member for children’s services said: “Birchwood is just one of many children’s centres being opened across the borough which offer a fantastic opportunity for parents and carers to find out what services are available to make their lives easier.”

  1. My son has a 15 month old child. He is separated from his wife. My son lives in Oakwood. He is managing quite well with his relatively new shared care situation. However, he is looking for opportunities – to take his child to a place where he can play and interact with other children. Can you send me details please of what is on offer at your Centre or email me.
