Sixties’ night
THE MUSIC of the 60s will be played at a special nostalgia evening at the Penketh Tavern, Greystone Road,
Penketh on Friday, September 26. The event is in aid of Warrington Animal Welfare.

Outbuilding refused
PLANNING chiefs have refused permission for a proposed two-storey outbuilding at Birch Tree House, Red Lane, Appleton, Warrington. The building would have incorporated a garage, gymnasium and room above.

Hospital parking
RECENTLY announced plans for a staff car park at Warrington Hospital, to help cope with chronic parking problems at the hospital, have been given the green light by borough planners.

Book signing
FANTASY author Adam Dalton will be signing copies of his first novel, Necromancer’s Gambit, at Waterstone’s book shop in Golden Square, Warrington on September 13.

Office facelift
BRITISH Nuclear Fuels have won planning consent for a major refurbishment of their existing office building in Warrington Road, Risley. Work will include replacing window frames, resurfacing of the car park new entrances with stairs and ramps and associated landscaping.

Cinema changes
THE Odeon Cinema at Westbrook, Warrington is to be given a facelift.
Planners have given the go ahead for the removal of existing glazed canopies to be replaced with a new wing canopy and blue clad wall. Changes to signage have also been approved.
