POLICE at Warrington are to hold an Open Day – offering a chance to see hi-tech policing in action and also learn about times past.
Visitors to the Arpley Street police station will able to go on a tour of the town’s police headquarters, watch a mock trial in progress at the magistrates’ court, visit a crime scene and see the police museum.
The open day is on Sunday, September 14 between 11am and 4pm. Admission is free.
There will be special activities for children and a highlight of the day will be a “fly-pass” by the police air support unit.
A wide variety of police vehicles and equipment will be on display, the Victorian cells will be open for inspection and there will be a chance to see the latest forensic techniques in use.
Importantly, members of the public will be able to meet and chat with police officers from their area.
A police spokesman: “The police station is well worth a visit – and admission is free.”
