AN afternoon of events for people with a disability is planned to spotlight the benefits of exercise.
Wheelchair basketball, bocca, Tai Chi, yoga, aerobics or dance will all be included in the initiative staged by Select Leisure at Great Sankey Leisure Centre on Saturday, August 30.
A Select Leisure spokeswoman said: “Taking part is not only great for your physical wellbeing but its great fun too! “If you are already active then you can try something new and if you are not active at the moment then now is the time to start.
“There is really is something for everyone, so come along and join us!”
Activities will run from 12 noon, registration will be from 11.45am, drinks and snacks will be available to purchase and there will be displays from a variety of support groups, services and networks.
Great Sankey Leisure Centre in partnership with the Arts and Sports Engagement team, Warrington Disability Partnership, Warrington Wolves Foundation, YMCA and the centre’s own disabled club is giving those with a disability, or those who live or support a person with a disability, the chance to try something new or just join in.
